5 Minutes to find Indoor Fun!

The summer is upon us and down in NC, that means it's really hot outside. While I generally like to get the kids outside so they can breathe some fresh air, I also need a break from the heat and so do they.
So moms, take 5 minutes if you haven't already and find some things to do in your areas that are indoors. I bet you'll find that a lot of them are free.
We have summer movie programs for kids in our area. Some theaters offer free (or close to free) admissions for older movies. Today we saw the Tales of Despereaux. It was enjoyable, free and cool (almost chilly).

Libraries will also offer story times. Museums sometime offer free kid admissions.
So jump online and see what you and your families can do to beat the heat.

Five Minutes for Friends

In this post I wanted to remind us all that friendship is one of the most important relationships that we have. Other than the relationship we have with God, friendship is the one that comes through time and again. Even our spouses should be are greatest friends. I believe the marriages that last are built on a strong foundation of friendship. Our love for our children, that knows no bounds, is shown through are friendship with them. Especially when that friendship comes with a side of even discipline. Make sure to take an Extra 5 minutes with a "friend" everyday. When a girlfriend calls and you feel rushed, spend an extra 5 minutes on the phone. When you are busy with your errands, take 5 minutes aside to call your husband to ask how his day is going. When you are busy scrubbing that stove or bathtub, etc. and your darling little one comes over, take 5 minutes to cuddle on the couch. Not only do you strengthen your relationship but you strengthen your own spirit!

5 minutes Renewed!

What I did today was remind myself to take five minutes to update my blogs. Ha! It has been awhile. Too many balls juggling in the air. But that is exactly what the five minute mom is about. Taking the time to get all the things (even the non important ones) done....five minutes at a time. So here is my pledge to continue on my five minute missions. Starting anew today!
